I don't know what wrong, this losing streak just keeps going on. The poor Cubs can't buy a win. I don't know where the Cubs buy their bats but they need to get some bats with hits in them.

I'm not sure about Hendry purchasing Jim Edmonds - could his crystal ball be clouding over? He's 38 with about 14 or 15 years in MLB. What makes him think that after his substandard play at SD the first part of this year and the last 3 years at St Louis he will snap out of his funk and start producing again? I would rather see Pie and Murton (who haven't been that bad) getting playing time to help their development.

so, did you hear about the Peoria Cubs and the Dayton Dragons (Reds) bench clearing brawl? the lowdown is that instead of taking the high road when their player was hit the cubs minor league pitcher decided to hit 2 of their guys (1 in the head - ridic) and among other things prrompted the 3rd base coach for the dragons and the fill-in manager for the cubs to brawl. that started a 10-minute bench clearing brawl! THEN the cubs pitcher decided he wanted to throw a ball at the other team's dugout, missed and hit a fan. yea, he gets a felony for that one. not to mention something like 13 people got ejected, but because they wanted to finish the game, the ejections were reversed and the cubs team went on to lose.

so, it was ridiculuous!

I remember an article I read last year saying that If you have a mediocre team in the NL Central you are pretty much guarenteed a playoff position.

I was watching the Cubs game yesterday and Bob and Len pointed out that the three best records in the NL are all in the Central Division. This is pretty impressive change from last year.

There is talk of selling the naming rights to Wrigley Field. What do you think if they were to change the name? I think they should change it to Cubs Park or something like that. It doesn't seem like Wrigley cares if they change it otherwise they would offer some money not to change it.

I don't know if this is really the Cubs' year or not. They score 19 runs yesterday and today give up 3 runs in the 9th and lose by one. This is the same type of playing we've seen for years. They'll give you a championship caliber game then turn around the next day and give you crap. They seem to be consistent only in their inconsistencies.
