I want them to keep Hester too. That's what the Trib is saying, but if he is going to be a pain in the ass they might have to send him packing.

NO! Not good to trade Hester. He's being a baby, but he thinks he's awesome. I don't know the specifics about the contract, but I do know he will have to work for his money. So, hopefully that makes him WANT to play better. And to me that means becoming a regular receiver; not just a punt returner. I think if we can groom him to get into some plays we can only get better. but, I really like Hester.

Maddness! Now we need a Beef Patty. Btw...the Tribune say's to trade Hester. Is that the right thing to do? All the "experts" are saying the Bears are going to have a crumby year.

Looks like we have a new "Rule" not showing up to camp. It looks like they ironed thing out. Devin Hester did show up to camp this morning!

I understand that he wanted more money, I don't blame him. Football is his job and I know it's a different culture. I was just thinking of what would happen to anyone else with a normal job if they decided to not show up until they got paid more.

I think they should penalize kicking it directly out of bounds. maybe 5-10 yards from where it went out. any NFL punter should be able to kick it directly out of bounds. if you can drop it on the 5 and have the ball roll out of bounds, more power to ya.

I feel that the NFL owners made the right choice. Kicking the ball out-of-bounds is a strategic option of the special teams game plan. Being an avid Bears' fan, I would like nothing more than to see Devin Hester take every kick or punt to the house. Conversely, I think it is a great feat to see a punter drop it inside the ten or see a punt roll out or fly out of bounds within the five. Unfortunately, this rule that was shot down was aimed only at one player and the NFL will not institute a rule until it becomes an epidemic league-wide and not just during Bears' games. Until the day when a rule is made where 10 to 15 yards are added to a sideline punt or an automatic placement of the ball at the 40 yardline is enforced, like on kickoffs, we Bears' fans will have to deal with the fact that Hester will not see too many punts.

The NFL briefly talked about instituting a rule to prevent teams from punting out of bounds. Owners rejected the idea immediately. I'm all for it until the Bears get too cheap and Hester bolts.

What should the NFL do to put the ball in the hands of the league's most exciting player?
