what do we think about losing Nick Massett and Danny Richar to get Grif? I'll tell ya, it makes me think of how cub fans thought edmonds was done, and it's truned out to work in their favor. everyone says not to doubt Ken Williams, so all I have to say is that I hope Huston Street becomes a Sock to fill the hole Massett is leaving. =( harrumph.

Ken Griffy could be a good pickup, I like Massett...Richar..whatever. I think the team could only get better with Griffy on board so I guess I say, "It can't hurt."

Swisher is giving his No. 30 to Griffey. No more Dirty Thirty.

I just don't see the point, unless he's going to be used as trade bait. Why are we not giving Brian Anderson a chance? There's no debate about who the better center fielder is (which isn't Griffey's position). Grif has proven that he can take care of business at the plate, but I think Anderson can only get better with regularity. BA is WAY too good to be riding the bench.

Even worse, Jr. in no way fills the missing piece with our team. Ozzie said it best about last night's loss to the Twins "Griffey no pitch. Idda pitching dat loss de game lazz nite."

After all the ranting, I still like Griffey and I REALLY hope this plan works out. Let's go Sox!

oh, interesting. i didn't even notice the number switcheroo - that was nice of swish.

on a serious note though, i agree with beefie. grif didn't really fill any gaps for us. i like the idea of a slugging lefty, but we already have one of those in Thome. not to mention that grif is a CF, so remind me why we have one of the best defensive CF riding the bench in BA, but we go out and get a 36 yr old CF to replace him? I just don't get it. it just seems like too many old slowies (Paulie, Thome, now Griffey). I will attempt to keep the faith and see how it all comes together in the end. if he brings us to the playoffs, then hats off to Ken Williams.

The Chisox lost a game to the Bosox, first place to the Twinkies, and Hosie the Contrary-ous to the injury list all in one evening! Sheesh, lets right this thing soon. How about pitching, hitting, and defense in the same game for a change?

He just hit his 609th Homerun and that ties Sosa at 5th on the list for career home runs. Maybe that's why the Sox wanted him.
