There is talk of selling the naming rights to Wrigley Field. What do you think if they were to change the name? I think they should change it to Cubs Park or something like that. It doesn't seem like Wrigley cares if they change it otherwise they would offer some money not to change it.

Cubs park would be nice, but i'm sure whoever coughs up the $$$ will want to advertise. Get ready for another big business stadium.

well, i don't really it matters what you call it. i mean most people still call "US Cellular" park - Comiskey. or you could be like beefie who has made the name into a hybrid calling it comiskular. either way that place will always be remembered as Wrigley whether it gets a new name or not.

Sell it to the highest bidder. It's the feeling one gets being there that's special - the ivy, the grass, the scoreboard, the history - not the name. If you need the name, have it called 'Wrigley Field sponsored by McDonald's' or whatever. It's not worth losing up to $20 million a year just to save a name.

Is that it? Nobody really cares? I hear about this like every other day. rfisch4, I like the Wrigley Sponsored by idea but I'm not sure if it company dropping big bucks will go for that.

Maybe if their name was first. "Fred's Meat Packing presents Wrigley Field" That might have a little more of a chance. What about U.S. Cellular - North Side?

Two U.S. Cellular's in the same city? I can see problems with all the drunken sports fans agreeing to 'meet at the Cell' on Thursday and going to different ones. That would lead to a lot of lonely, drunken, sports fans. haha.

Cubs play in Wrigley Field, the neighborhood is called Wrigleyville.
    Mars buys Wrigley.
So will Cub fans be drinking in Mars Bars now?
