Jim Thome just hit his 2,000th hit in today's game against the Royals. More amazing is that he has 525 Home Runs, that means every 4th hit is a home run.

oh, also in this game they honored Harold Baines with a bronze statue in the outfield. The Sox are wearing their jersey's from the 80's (I'm assuming because of the statue thing) and Jermaine Dye was taken out of the game after being hit in the knee with a pitch. The x-rays were negative so JD will be ok.

Mark Grudzielanek on the Royals got his 2000 hit last week also. I think it was about Sat or Sun. That guy has hit right around 300 ever since he was with the Cubs although no where near the homer amount of Thome - consistency. I think he has just under 100 homers.

yea, that was an awesome game! I watched the double from the concession stand, but it looked really good! I'm happy for Thome - he's awesome and just an all around nice guy. it was an exciting game, too bad it was a big fat loser.

oh, and btw those are my fave uniforms. for some reason i really like the numbers on the leg as well. holy hotness white sox 1980's style!
